netbooks are much smaller and lighter but less powerful they are used more for internet/email and not fore big apps like videos editing or gaming.
What you get will depend on your needs and requirments
notebook does stuff on it’s own, netbook needs internet access to do stuff
A netbook is like a notebook, but smaller. It lacks an optical drive and typically has a much smaller hard drive than a notebook. The screen is tiny and so is the keyboard. They’re designed to be very light, and mainly used for browsing the Internet.
netbook is for simple task like working on my MS Office, play music or browsing online. so not powerful to run good graphics. it doesnt have a CD/DVD drive
Notebook is like a home computer but portable
A netbook is a very small laptop with a screen size less than 10 inches. Some popular ones are the Asus Eee PC and the MSI wind. A notebook refers to a portable computer and does not necessary have to be tiny.
If you are using this for school, you probably do not want a netbook since the screen and keyboard are usually pretty small. It will not be much fun typing up a term paper on a netbook.

A netbook is defined as having 10.2″ screen max. Other than that the line kind of blurs between them. A netbook is for basic work; web surfing, email, play music or basic photo editing.
A notebook has a better CPU, more RAM and better graphics capabilities.
Netbooks are designed for minimal usage. If you’ll only be surfing the web, chatting, storing pictures, etc. than a netbook will be adequate. If you’re doing anything other than that, like writing papers, making movies, making slideshows, and writing programs, a notebook is the way to go.
I’d suggest getting a smaller more powerful notebook rather than a netbook. You’ll get a larger hard drive, more ram (memory), faster processor — in general just better quality components.
Netbook: only good for people on the go. the only really use is internet and email. very small, light and inexpensive compared to notebooks.
Notebook: good for email, internet, windows documents, pictures etc…. it is a laptop (portable computer) bigger, heavier compared to small netbooks. has alot more features.
